The moment I saw Hey Chick in the new 2017 Sale-A-Bration catalogue, I just knew I had to have it. The stamp set is humorous and extremely versatile. Today I’m showcasing an interactive waterfall birthday card.
A hidden message is revealed when the waterfall panel is put into action by pulling gently on the twine at its base.
Card stock cuts are displayed at the bottom of this post.
|Ink up the “Hardwood” stamp with Tip Top Taupe and stamp the 4″ x 5¼” Tip Top Taupe panel.
|Using Basic Black ink, stamp the “funky chick” on the 4″ x 5¼” Very Vanilla interior message panel
| Use Basic Black ink to stamp the “Chick” on each of the four squares of Very Vanilla (1-7/8”) in various poses (see sample to the right)
Note: On three of the square take care not to stamp on the bottom ¾” of the card stock – that space will be carrying the sentiment.Stamp the Sentiments in Tip Top Taupe Ink within the bottom ¾” of the square.Use Calypso Coral ink to same the small flower (Best Birds stamp set) to the remaining white space of the upper portion of the square.Use the blender pen to give color to the chicks. I’ve used Calypso Coral, So Saffron, and accents of Watermelon Wonder. When the four squares are complete adhere each to a Tip Top Taupe 2″ square.
| Score the Very Vanilla 2″ x 9¼” panel as indicated in the diagram immediately above. This panel will be referred to as the “waterfall” panel.
Use Basic Black ink to stamp the “funky chick” on the long end of the “waterfall” panel. Also stamp the “Happy Birthday” sentiment and the little flowers (both from the Best Birds stamp set) in Calypso Corel.
Note: this image will be hidden once the panel is fully constructed. The inked numerals are to indicate placement of the square panels on the “waterfall” panel.
Adhere the ¾” x 5½” Calypso Coral panel to the bottom underside of the square marked “1” of the “waterfall” panel.
Next construct the top (visible) portion of the “waterfall” panel per the following images.
|Place the “Waterfall” panel to the Tip Top Taupe front panel by carefully placing the piece in the center. Wrap the excess Calypso Coral piece around the front panel and secure with fast fuse adhesive to the back.
Now attach this unit to the black card base and tie a piece ofVery Vanilla thick baker’s twine to the base of the “waterfall” panel.

Oh my! While developing this new website (http://StampingWithLindaG) this morning I inadvertently erased my Stamping With Linda G which had been housed on a different website. Boo, Hiss, Bug Juice, etc.!
I generally pride myself on being well backed-up. Notice that I said generally. My Blog, Stamping With Linda G, was not backed-up anywhere. Boo, Hiss! The worst part of it all is that some of the images had been linked by others on Pinterest sites.
It will take me a day or two to get this blog up and running again, and I’ll do my best to recreate some of the old blogs and, of course, post new messages and images.
Words of advise..
Backup, backup, backup….
All the best,
Linda (with “mud on her face”)
