Stampin’ Up! Affectionately Yours DSP for the Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Logo for Amy's Inkin' Krew Team Blog Hop

It’s that time again! Time for another Inkin’ Krew blog hop. This month we are creating projects for Mother’s Day or a feminine card. I’ve chosen to feature the specialty designer series paper Affectionately Yours. This DSP is truly magnificent but, sadly, will not be available from Stampin’ Up! after May 31st, 2017.

Completed greeting card with a Night of Navy card stock base trimmed with a piece of colorful flowers from the Affectionately Yours specialty designer series paper.

The specialty designer series paper Affectionately Yours is truly magnificent and, sadly, will not be available from Stampin’ Up! after May 31st, 2017. The sentiment is the only “stamping” on this particular card, making this a very quick and easy creation. The sentiment, “Hoping Your Day IS Perfect,” is versatile and the hand written interior message can pin point the occasion—birthday, thank-you, etc., or can easily be used to send a simple note.

As usual, I started my project by cutting out the card stock (please see measurements near the end of this post.

Night of Navy card stock, card base, torn.

The base of the card is Night of Navy with a landscape orientation. Beginning about one-third of the way from the top, I tore the paper to produce the ragged look.

gold ribbon on card with Affectionately Yours specialty designer series paper adhered below the tear line on the base card.Next I wrapped the 1/8″ On-Trend Gold Ribbon and tied a bow on the top part of the Night of Navy card front. The piece of Affectionately Yours specialty designer series paper was then adhered with SNAIL to the front of the card beneath the Night of Navy.

Sentiment, "Hopping Your Day is Perfect embossed in gold with circular die placed on the Daffodil Delight card stock for cutting

I stamped the sentiment from the Suite Sentiments stamp set in VersaMark Ink on a scrap of Daffodil Delight card stock, sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder, and heat embossed it. The sentiment was then cut our with a circle from the Stitched Frames framelits dies.

The sentiment was adhered to the front of the card using dimensionals.

A piece of the dark Affectionately Yours Washi Tape was placed near the bottom of the interior message panel of the card.

You’ll find a complete list of supplies for this project, including card stock cuts, at the very bottom of this post.

Stampin’ Up! Special Reason Bundle

Front of card with two delicate flowers in Blushing Bride with two leaves in Mint Macaron. A piece of Blushing Bride ribbon is tied to the front above the sentiment, "Congratulations."

This delicate card was created using the Special Reason bundle by Stampin’ Up!

Process

    1. Prepare card stock and cut (dimensions below)
    2. Emboss one of the 4″ x 5-1/4″ Whisper White panels with the Petal Burst textured impressions embossing folder and the Big Shot. Then lightly sponge the panel with Pink Pirouette ink.
    3. Prepare the delicate flowers using the Stylish Stems framelits dies. This is a two step process—see the following images—from the Blushing Bride card stock.Images illustrating the placement of the flowerdies on the intricate die cut flowers on the Blushing Bride card stock
    4. The resulting die cuts will look like this:
Image of the large and small intricate flowers created from Blushing Bride card stock.

Supply List to Make All Four Cards

Stampin’ Up! Autism Matters Blog Hop

Banner reading, "April is National Autism Awareness Month," and keywords: "awareness," "action," "Inclusion," "Acceptance," and "Appreciation."

Autism is the fastest growing disability among children in the US?

The intent of this blog is to raise awareness and funds for autism related research, resources and services for those affected by autism and to advocate for the needs of those with autism.  Autism statistics from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) identify around 1 in 68 American children as on the autism spectrum–a ten-fold increase in prevalence in 40 years.  It is now more common in the United States than pediatric AIDS, juvenile diabetes, and childhood cancer combined.

In order to honor Autism Speaks, I’ve used the bold colors from their logo to create a birthday card. I used the My Hero and Window Shopping stamp sets as well as the Cupcake Cutouts and Large Letters framelits dies.

When I plan a card, I like to gather the card stock first. Once I’ve decided upon the color combinations with which I’m happy, then I cutout the card stock pieces (see card stock cuts below).

This simple card requires only one ink pad—real red. It was used to stamp the “Celebrate” banner from the My Hero stamp set on the Whisper White scrap. Real Red was also used to stamp “Happy Birthday” from the Window Shopping stamp set on the yellow message panel for the interior of the card.

"Happy Birthday" stamped with red ink on yellow card stock.

I had some blue glimmer paper in my stash (Stampin’ Up!’s white, red, silver or gold gilmmer paper would work well, also) and thought it would be perfect for this project. The letters for “YOU” were cut from the glimmer paper with the Large Letter framelits dies.

The card layers were assembled using SNAIL permanent adhesive and Stampin’ Dimensionals were used to adhere the “Celebrate” banner to the front of the card.

Thanks for viewing the posts in this very special blog hop! If you’d like to help with research and services for those affected by autism, please make a donation to Autism Speaks. It is as easy as clicking on the heart banner immediately below.

Stampin’ Up! Reverse Words

Image of the Whisper White and Peekaboo Peach card stock and Peekaboo Peach ribbon used in this card project.

This quick and easy card was created using one of the free Sale-A-Bration stamp sets called Reverse Words. In order to help to keep the card clean and simple, I used a duo of colors for my palette—Peekaboo Peach and Whisper White.

Card front sporting the color Peekaboo Peach and the sentiment "Cheers."

The card stock (cuts listed near the end of the post) used for this project were Peekaboo Peach, Whisper White, and the 2016–2018 In Color designer series paper stack.

The sentiment, “Just a Note,” is from the Better Together stamp set was used on the Whisper White interior message panel.

I find rounded corners soft and pleasing. Stampin’ Up! has two products that we may use for this purpose—the Project Life Corner Punch or the corner punch that is part of the Envelope Punch Board.

The end of the annual Sale-A-Bration promotion ends on March 31st. If you’ve not already taken advantage of the promotion, hurry to see how many ways you can earn free products.

Stampin’ Up! Perfect Mix

Gold and white card with a bit of gold ribbon. An egg carton is stamped in black with one egg covered with a bit of gold polk-a-dot paper. The sentiment reads, "You're One in a Dozen"Every now and then, I like to express a little bit of humor (all-be-it rather dry) in my cards. To that end, the somewhat corny stamp set Perfect Mix was just right for a masculine card that I created for a wonderful next door neighbor who will have a birthday very soon.

Stamped message reading, "Happy Birthday" in deep mustard color

The interior of the card carries the Happy Birthday sentiment. You’ll not that I also added a vertical strip of the DSP to the left to create a little more interest to the page.

Stampin’ Up! Supply List

Stampin’ up! Penned & Painted for the Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Logo for Amy's Inkin' Krew Team Blog Hop

The Penned & Pained stamp set by Stampin’ Up! is just perfect for a spring card. The card I designed for this blog hop contains a very generic sentiment on the card front so that the card is ready for just about any occasion.

Flower stamped in Wisteria Wonder on a white oval that is adhered to the card. The bottom of the card front is layered with a green and white polk-a-dot paper and adorned with a pice of white satin ribbon. The sentiment on the card reads, "Hoping Your Day Is Perfect."

My modus operandi when working on a stamping project is to, first, cut out my card stock and collect scraps of the needed colors from my scrap bin. Secondly, I stamp as much as I can before assembly.

In this instance, the sentiment is stamped directly on the upper forth of the Whisper White panel for the front of the card and the flower is stamped on a scrap of Whisper White that will accommodate the largest Stitched Oval die.

Let’s look at the stamping of the flower (also discussed in an earlier blog post last week).

The images immediately above demonstrate the two step stamping process that is used with the Penned & Painted stamps.Fortunately the stamp has an arrow at the top of each of these stamps that is used to assist you in lining up the second stamp (outline) for a cleaner image. The stem and leaves also use two steps for stamping in the same manner (the green background is used only to set off the piece of Whisper White for photographing, it has nothing to do with the project). After stamping the flower and its stem and leaves, use the largest Stitched Oval die to cut out the image.

Assembly

  1. Adhere the Serene Scenery DSP panel to the bottom (long side) of the Whisper White panel.
  2. Adhere the ribbon across the front of the card just below the top of the DSP panel.
  3. Adhere the Whisper White Stitched Oval with flower to the scalloped Pear Pizzazz oval.
  4. Use dimensionals to adhere the oval layers to the card front.
  5. On the interior Whisper White message panel lie a coordinating piece of designer washi tape across the bottom (long edge) and adhere this message panel to the inside of the card.

A list of Stampin’ Up! supplies and the card stock cuts are found later in this blog post.

This lovely card can be used for almost any occasion.

Awesomely Artistic & Detailed Dragonfly

Indigo Island and Whisper White card with matching designer paper from Stampin' Up! The design is a detailed dragonfly cut from Indigo Island card stock and trimmed with rhinestones.

Don’t you just love dragonflies? I do. I’m in the mood for spring and I’m sure that it is just around the corner. Spring is the focus of this card and I’ve used two special products from Stampin’ Up!—Awesomely Artistic stamp set and Detailed Dragonfly thinlits dies.

First I apologize for the poor quality of the image. Wouldn’t you know the one time I mail out a card prior to inspecting my photo results for blog or other use, I find my photography was very punk for this item.

Although the card background appears to be white(ish) here, I did you Island Indigo for my base card stock and used a piece of Whisper White for the first panel layer and for the interior message panel.

A piece of Blooms & Bliss designer series paper was chosen for the two inch vertical piece down the left of the card and a coordinating piece was used for the base layer of the label panel. The detailed dragonfly was cut from a scrap of Island Indigo card stock. The sentiment, “Just for You,” was a stamp in the So In Love stamp set.

Stampin’ Up! supplies and card stock cuts are listed at the tail end of this blog post.
