Traveler

Image of a greeting card using Stampin' Up Products: Flourishing Phrases ("Just a Note" sentiment); Traveler (steam train); soft slate, black, whisper white, and Island Indigo card stock; and basic grey and island indigo ink pads.

How I love to ride the Tennessee Valley Railroad’s autumn Summerville Steam Special—a full day of touring including luncheon on the dining car. The sound made by the wheels on the rails is mesmerizing.

The steam engine stamp in the Traveler stamp set by Stampin’ Up! is a great way to bring back happy memories while also creating a greeting card for a “guy.” I keep a couple on hand, with no stamped sentiment, for times when I need a birthday, thank you, or just a note card.

In the Meadow for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Last Blast of Summer Blog Hop

Sign stating, "Amy's Inkin' Krew Last Blast of Summer Blog Hop, August 9, 2016."

Today the theme for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop is “Last Blast of Summer.” To honor the occasion, I have chosen to feature In the Meadow stamp set by Stampin’ Up!

Note card sporting a doe and her fawn.

The last blasts of summer are upon us. The doe and her fawn in the Stampin’ Up! stamp set, In the Meadow, remind me that the speckled fawns will not be seen much longer as they are rapidly growing up.

After stamping the doe and fawn with Basic Blank ink, I used an aqua painter to color the pair with Tip Top Taupe. Old Olive was used for the grassy ground cover.

To add a bit of pizazz to the interior white panel, I stamped the clump of grass and flowers in Mint Macaron (from the same stamp set, In the Meadow).

When Photography Meets Stamping

Image of a sympathy card created with papers having the color watermelon wonder and a photophy of a water scene containing water iris and azaleas at Gibbs Gards

I finally took the plunge and merged my love of shooting photographs with my love for stamping—a garden shot I took at Gibbs Gardens and the Rose Wonder Photopolymer Bundle by Stampin’ up!.

I’m looking forward to experimenting merging the two media some more in the near future

Seaside Shore

School of blue and black fish created using Stampin' up! stamp set Seaside Shore.

All the youngsters boarding buses to go back to school last week made me think of another kind of school—a school of fish. To that end, I just had to use the Stampin’ Up! stamp set Seaside Shore.
